Feature Walls

Interior designers often include a focal point or wall in a room, even though the actual term 'feature wall' may have slipped out of favour. However, a feature wall is a brilliant way to avoid blandness and add interest, colour, light, texture and mood to a room. And you can be as subtle or bold as you like. Tiling a wall doesn't have to be restricted to bathrooms, showers and kitchens either.

Here are some ideas for giving some focus and revive the feature wall which has been neglected for far too long:

Metallic effects for adding shine and boutique hotel glamour - try Mosaics, Glassworks and Foundry from the Winchester Collection

Stone, stone effects and wood effects provide texture and a natural vibe - there are a lot to discover in Earthworks and Tileworks

Different shapes such as bricks and hexagons add interest - go to Tileworks and Glassworks for these

Colour, patterns and illustrations give warmth and a homely feel - find these in Odyssey and The Winchester Tile Company collections

Bespoke designs - your own design created in mosaics for the ultimate statement feature wall.
